1. I sent the link to my profile to my friends, but the vote bar doesn't appear for them.
You have to be a member to vote for someone from their profile. If you're not a member then you can only rate people from the random rate guys/girls pages.
2. Why can't I see the voting bar when I'm in my profile?
When you are logged into your profile, the voting bar does not appear. Other members will however see the voting bar when viewing your profile.
3. I'm not receiveing votes anymore. Why not?
This is because only the newest members are rotated through the rate the girls/guys page. After you are out of this rotation your number of votes will decrease drastically. We did this because by this time you usually have from 50-100 votes and your score will not significantly change after this time. Members can still vote for you from your profile though! If you reset your votes, you will be put back into the random rotation.
4. What happens if I reset my votes?
Reseting your votes will do two things. First, it will reset your votes and score back to zero. Second, it will put your profile back into the random voting pool. This is a great feature to use if you'd like to see how different photos affect your rating.
5. How often can I vote?
You can vote as many times as you want, but only once for each photo.
6. Do I have to be a member to vote?
Yes.
7. I have a high enough rating to be in the top 5 but I'm not listed. It also says N/A next to my rank. Why?
We require people to obtain at least 35 votes before they are eligible for a ranking or the top lists.
8. I heard 10s don't count. Is this true?
No.
9. When I click on the voting bar nothing happens. How can I fix this?
This is most likely the result of an internet firewall, such as Norton Internet Security not being configured properly for some features of FTJ. Click here for information on configuring NIS correctly.

1. I changed my main or additional pic, but the old one keeps coming up.
This is because the picture is cached by your browser on your computer. Your browser does this to make web surfing faster. It doesn't know that there is a new picture it should be displaying. Try holding "Ctrl" and pressing "F5" while viewing your profile or photo and see if it updates. If that doesn't work, don't worry, everyone else is seeing the new photo, and you're browser will eventually grab the updated photo as well.
2. How do I change or add photos on my profile.
You can change your main photo by going to the edit profile page and simply uploading a new photo from your computer. Additional photos can be changed by clicking the "add" of "change" links under the additional photo section of your profile. Photos will take anywhere from 5 minutes to 24 hours to be approved.
3. What kinds of photos are acceptable on FaceTheJury?
There are different criteria for "main" photos and additional photos. For main photos, the following are not acceptable- Professional photos
- Cartoons
- Pictures of your car
- Pictures of your pets
- Baby photos
- Pictures containing nudity or other pornographic content
- Pictures with copyright or another website written on them
- Pictures with your email address on them
- Pictures where your face is not visible and prominent
We allow pretty much any kind of photo as your additional photo except nudity, pornographic, or otherwise offensive images as judged by our staff.
4. Every time I try to register it says my image is too big or of the wrong type. What's up with that?
Photos must be of either .jpg or .gif format and under 500k. There are many graphics programs available that can assist you in getting your images into this format and size.

A separate set of rules exists for the forums here. In general, each moderator is given a bit of wiggle room for interpretation of the rules as they apply to their forum. The moderators have the final word as to what is and is not acceptable in the forum they moderate and the staff will defer to them and take their advice when violations occur.

3. I need to configure Norton Internet Security (NIS) to enable certain features of FTJ. How do I do this?
The reason features like voting, changing your forum picture, and adding, deleting and changing favorites sometimes fail when an internet firewall is installed on your computer is generally because of the firewall's "Privacy Control" settings. By default, if your privacy control is turned on, it is set to block the "Referer" which is basically the page you were on before you visited the page you're currently on. FTJ uses this information for the sole purpose of making sure you came from a page on FTJ rather than a page on another site when trying to access certain features. No data about where you were before is ever seen or collected by FTJ.
NIS, can easily be configured for proper use with FTJ by making a small adjustment in the advanced settings. To access the advanced settings, open NIS, click on the "Options" button and choose "Internet Security". On the "General Tab", click the "Advanced Options" button at the bottom of the dialog window. This will bring up a window similiar to the one shown below. Use the following steps to configure NIS to work properly with FTJ.
- If "www.facethejury.com" is not already listed in the list of websites on the left, click the add button and add it.
- Once "www.facethejury.com" is added, it will appear in the list of sites. Select it by clicking on it in the list.
- Choose "Privacy" from the tabs on the right.
- Make sure you have checked the box next to "Use these rules for www.facethejury.com.
- Both the Cookies and Referer options should be set to "Permit" as shown in the window below.
- Click "Apply" to save the settings.
